Hey There!
I’m Christine. Now in my early 50s, I have been an entrepreneur for most of my adult life. That means I have a whole lot of experience running small businesses from behind my bookkeeping desk.
Life… It’s Been an Adventure
Like many of you reading this, my life has been quite a journey. I have been through two economic meltdowns, endured the loss of my son, given life to two beautiful daughters, and gone through a divorce and even a debilitating chronic illnesses.
Throughout all of life’s ups, downs and hard lessons (some might even call them mistakes), I was blessed with people who believed in me and who gave me the opportunities to learn through hard work, constructive criticism and love.
The Beginnings of Alexander Bookkeeping
My Bookkeeping education started at just 21 years old, but it wasn’t until after my second daughter was born and my marriage started falling apart that I became an entrepreneur.
Two years after my divorce, I meant my current husband, Dave. He is a contractor and owns his own business as well.
I remember him saying to me: “It must be nice being a single mom in that big house dating a contractor.”
My response? “It must be nice being a single contractor dating a bookkeeper.” Within six months, I was doing his bookkeeping and helping him grow his company too.
And that’s how I started Alexander Bookkeeping. My husband and I grew both our companies to the point we had 10 employees between us. Five years into my husband’s business, we hit our best year yet.
But as 2009 kicked off, our half a million dollars of work on the books was canceled when the Great Recession happened. We made it through, together, and we’re stronger than ever before.
What I Want to Achieve in This Life
If someone were to ask me what my goal is to accomplish before I leave this life, it’s simple: to know that not only did I break a dysfunctional cycle inherited from previous generations, but I also mentored other women through life’s ups and downs.
It fills me with so much joy to teach women everything I have l learned about being self-employed, bookkeeping, working from home and balancing family life successfully. I want to instill the importance of personal growth and self-care in those I mentor.
That brings me to today…
I’m proud to say that through my 35 years of experience, I have created Alexander Bookkeeping to be an expert in the industry. In fact, our expertise has given us the opportunity to mentor and train other bookkeepers as they discover their own path to success and independence.
And through the building of this bookkeeping business, and supporting clients, I’m now personally in a place to mentor and support business owners more fully, consulting and giving back on a deeper level.

Oh… and Outside of Work, What Nourishes My Soul?
…spending time with my family at home in Sebastopol, CA, where I enjoy my puppy (a Chug named Otto), being outdoors, gardening, and peacefully listening to nature’s beautiful sounds. That’s what invigorates me!
